What MRU is
MRU is a shared library mod developed by IMB11. It falls under the Libraries and APIs category. You won't find player-facing content like blocks, custom items, weapons, or world generation features here. It functions entirely behind the scenes.
Its primary job is to supply common tools and multiversioned utilities for mods created by IMB11 and Cassian. For example, it includes reusable logic for Immersive Overlays and Immersive Minimaps. The library mod reduces the time and effort needed to build and update these projects across different Minecraft editions. It also aims to remove the need for platform-specific code across those mods, which cuts down ongoing maintenance.
Who needs to install it
You don't download MRU as a standalone feature pack. Instead, you install it as a dependency. Here's the thing, when you want to run mods authored by IMB11 or Cassian that rely on its shared code, you will need MRU in your mod directory.
The mod is marked as optional on the client side and optional on the server side. You only need to place it where the dependent mod requires it. If a client-only mod uses it, you put it on your client. If a server setup runs a mod that needs it, you include it on the server.
Supported mod loaders and game versions
MRU supports three mod loaders: Fabric, Neoforge, and Forge.
Version support is limited to specific releases. You should never guess or assume compatibility with versions outside the official list. The confirmed Minecraft versions are:

Always check that your game instance runs one of these exact versions before adding the file to your setup.
Licensing and modpack guidelines
MRU is published under an All Rights Reserved license. Even with that license, the creator grants permission to include the mod in modpacks on Modrinth and CurseForge.
Using the mod means you agree to the author's End User License Agreement. As long as you follow the terms of that EULA, you can package MRU in your Modrinth or CurseForge collections without issue.
