Instead of pointing to your world spawn point, the compass needle now always points toward geographic north. How It Works
The mod modifies the vanilla compass logic so that it ignores the spawn point and consistently points to the world's north direction. So this change applies only to the client side; the mod does not run or have any effect on the server. Installing it on a server will not alter compass behavior for connected clients.
Supported Platforms
Northern Compass requires a mod loader to function. It's compatible with Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge. Real talk, the mod doesn't support Liteloader, Quilt, or other loaders unless explicitly added in a future update. You must use one of the supported loaders to run the mod.
Minecraft Version Compatibility
This mod is built and tested for the following Minecraft versions: 1.20.4, 1.20.6, 1.21, and 1.21.1. Each release corresponds to one of these versions.
