Overview
Almanac is a backend Java library mod created by frikinjay. And it holds shared code for the author's other mods. Instead of copying identical code across multiple add-ons, the author maintains the shared logic in this single package. Most of that code is loader independent. It runs behind the scenes. You won't see custom menus or items from it during normal play.
Standalone behavior
Almanac doesn't add content on its own. You won't get new blocks, tools, or mobs. It does carry one specific bug fix, though. In certain situations, empty tags cause items to lose their ability to stack. Almanac corrects this problem directly. Items with empty tags stack as intended when this mod is active. Other than this standalone fix, its job is simply to provide code to other mods.
Server and client requirements
This mod operates exclusively on the server side. Server installation is required if you run mods that depend on it. Client side installation is unsupported. Here's the thing, you don't need it on your personal game client, and you shouldn't put it in your local mod folder. Players joining your server don't need it installed either. It belongs strictly in your dedicated server setup.
Loader and version support
Almanac works across three different mod loaders. You can run it on Neoforge, Fabric, or Quilt. It supports several exact Minecraft releases: 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3. That also supports specific development builds. For 26.2, it supports snapshots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. It supports 26.2 pre-releases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, as well as release candidates 1 and 2. For 26.3, it supports snapshots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. It supports 26.3 pre-releases 1, 2, and 3, along with release candidates 1, 2, and 3. Only these explicit versions are supported.
