Ce face acest proiect

What the mod does

JeremySeq's Damage Indicator adds a small but useful combat HUD. When a player takes damage, an arrow points in the direction the hit came from. The amount of damage dealt to other mobs appears as floating text, and a text health bar shows the current health of nearby mobs. A red outline can be enabled to highlight when the player is hurt.

Who it’s for

If you play Minecraft in first-person and want to know where an attack is coming from, this mod is handy. And it also helps when fighting mobs, because you can see how much health they have and how much damage you are dealing.

How it works

The mod is client-side only. It doesn't need to be on the server, so you can install it on any server that allows client mods. The HUD is fully configurable through a single TOML file. You can turn each feature on or off, change colors, move the arrow, adjust how long the damage text stays on screen, and choose a different texture for the directional indicator.

Compatibility

The mod supports Fabric, Forge and NeoForge loaders. It works with Minecraft 1.19.4, 1.20.1, 1.20.4, 1.20.6, 1.21 and 1.21.1. What you get isn't compatible with server-side mods that require the mod to run on the server.

Installation

Download the mod file from a trusted source that hosts the Modrinth project. Here's the thing, place the file in the mods folder of a client that uses one of the supported loaders. No additional dependencies are required.

Configuration

The file damageindicator-client.toml (or jeremyseqsdamageindicators.toml on some loaders) lets you:

  • Enable or disable the directional arrow, damage text, health bars and blood overlay.
  • Change the color, placement, timing and texture of the directional indicator.
  • Make the health bar appear only for mobs you're targeting.

Why it matters

Knowing the source of damage instantly can save you from surprise attacks. Seeing damage numbers and mob health helps you plan your combat moves. The optional blood overlay adds a visual cue that you're being hurt.
