What the mod does

MixinTrace Reforged is a utility mod created by Txni. It is a direct port of the MixinTrace mod for the Forge and NeoForge platforms. The project is categorized under utility and quality of life.

When you manage a modded setup, crashes happen. Finding the root cause of a sudden crash can be slow and frustrating. Many modern mods alter vanilla Minecraft classes by applying mixins during runtime. When an error occurs, the standard stack trace tells you which class broke, but it hides which mods altered that class before the crash. Honestly, mixinTrace Reforged fixes that gap by adding mixin information directly to your crash reports for easier debugging.

How it modifies crash logs

The mod operates whenever Minecraft generates a crash report.

With this mod present, you'll find an extra section at the bottom of the generated crash log. This appended section lists every mixin applied to all affected Minecraft classes mentioned in the log.

Instead of guessing which installed mod changed the broken code, you can inspect the bottom of the report. It shows the exact mixins that touched the crashing classes. This extra context helps you track down which mods modify game code and trigger issues. And it saves time when troubleshooting broken mod combinations.

Installation requirements

Both client and server sides require the mod.

Because both client side and server side installation are marked as required, you should place the mod file in the mods directory on both ends of a multiplayer game. If you are running a multiplayer server, you need to install it on the dedicated server. If you're playing in singleplayer, you must have it on your game client. The code is released under the MIT License.
