What It Does
Sacks 'N Such is a storage addon for TFC:TNG. It adds held containers that let you carry items without using your main inventory. The mod focuses on sacks and similar items that fit the TFC survival style. You can store ores, tools, and other gear in these containers while exploring.
The mod is highly configurable. You can adjust slot counts, slot capacities, and whether items are picked up automatically. This makes it useful for pack developers who want to tweak balance. Honestly, the default settings are ready to use, but the config file allows for significant changes.
Key Containers
The Ore Sack is a standout feature. It stores TFC ores in a dense format. This is helpful when mining because you can carry more ore without taking up many inventory slots. It can even automatically store ores you pick up.
Other options include the Thatch Container, which is cheap and simple but holds few items. The Leather Sack and Burlap Sack hold more items and cost more to make. So that Frame Pack is the largest option. But it has 18 slots and can hold large items. However, it's heavy. If you fill it with items, you'll be overburdened unless you manage your weight carefully.
How It Works
These containers work like vanilla bundles or TFC vessels. You can insert and extract items while the container is in your inventory slot. Anyone can't directly interact with items inside the container, such as using a tool from the sack. However, Pick Block is supported, so you can retrieve items that way.
The mod draws inspiration from Dank Null. Like that mod, slots can exceed the usual stack size limit. So this means you can store more of a single item type in one slot than you normally could.
Extra Features
Beyond storage, the mod adds a few quality-of-life items. Hiking Boots and Horseshoes increase your movement speed. Hiking Boots also have a step-up toggle, which helps with navigating terrain. If you have the Curios mod installed, many of these containers can be worn on your character. They'll also display on your player model in the world.
Compatibility
This mod requires Minecraft 1.20.1. It works with Forge and Neoforge. Both the client and server need the mod installed. It is designed specifically for TFC:TNG, so it may not work as intended in other TFC setups or without the TNG addon.
