Difficulty Lock

What it does Difficulty Lock applies a preset difficulty to every newly created world. You choose from peaceful, easy, normal, or hard in the config, and the mod sets it automatically when the world generates. A priority system resolves conflicts: if multiple difficulties are enabled, peaceful takes precedence, followed by easy, then normal, then hard. The default configuration sets every world to hard and locks the difficulty so it can't be changed later. An additional option lets the mod also change the difficulty in worlds that are already locked. The mod also adds three extra toggles. One forces hardcore mode on every new world, overriding the other difficulty settings when active. Another disables the cheats option on the initial world creation screen. A third prevents Creative mode from appearing in the game mode selector. All enforced settings are reflected in the Create World screen so you can see the result before the world generates. ## Who it suits This mod is built for modpack authors who want a consistent baseline across every world a player creates. So it also works for solo players who always start on the same difficulty and don't want to change the dropdown each time. Because the server side is required and the client side is optional, a dedicated server can enforce the rules without every player installing the mod. ## Compatibility and side requirements The mod runs on Fabric, Forge, Neoforge, and Quilt. Supported Minecraft versions are 26.3, 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1, 1.21.11, and 1.21.10. The server must have the mod installed; clients may join without it. The author permits use in any modpack as long as the download stays on CurseForge or Modrinth.
