What the mod does
Swapping chest slot gear in a hurry can catch you off guard. If you don't realize your wings are sitting in your bag, you'll fall.
ElytraOverlay fixes that.
The mod displays a small Elytra icon directly below your crosshair. It appears only when you've Elytra equipped. Take the item off, and the icon goes away immediately. You always know what gear sits on your back without opening your inventory screen. If you often forget whether your wings are on, this gives you instant feedback. You don't have to pause your movement to check.
Visual layout
The indicator appears right under the center crosshair. It stays out of your way while you look around.
Because the overlay is minimalist and unobtrusive, it doesn't cover your view. You don't have to squint at small numbers or glance at the edges of your screen. It gives you a fast visual check right where your eyes already focus. When you take the wings off or put regular armor on, the graphic vanishes on its own.
Server play and compatibility
You only run this mod on your own computer.
Server side installation is unsupported. That makes it safe to use on any multiplayer server. Look, you can join games without asking an administrator to add files, because the mod handles everything locally on your client. Most players don't need server-side permissions to use it. It also runs alongside other client-side mods. You won't run into interface conflicts, and the mod is lightweight with virtually no performance impact.
