Passive fishing

Manual fishing takes time. In vanilla Minecraft, casting a line repeatedly yields random treasures alongside food, which makes stocking up on raw fish slow.

Fishermen's Trap solves that problem by adding a standalone fish trap block. You place the trap, load it with bait, and let it work in the background. It turns regular crops into a steady supply of fish without requiring you to stand by the water.

Bait and mechanics

The trap runs on farm produce. Real talk, you trade harvested crops for catches over time. If you want a catch-all option, bread works as a general bait that attracts every supported fish type.

Placement matters. You cannot place the trap in an artificial puddle or indoor tank and expect results. To catch anything, the trap must sit fully submerged in a recognized water biome, such as an ocean, a river, or a lake. This restriction keeps the block balanced and tied to natural waterways.
