What the mod does
When you switch between items in your hotbar, vanilla Minecraft only shows the basic item name. Held Item Tooltips expands that readout. The mod displays detailed item information directly above your hotbar whenever you hold an item.
You can see item enchantments right on your screen without opening your inventory. When you hold a potion, the mod reveals its potion effects directly above the hotbar. If you hold a shulker box, it displays what's stored inside the box. You don't need to place the box down or open extra menus to confirm what you are holding.
It's a simple interface adjustment that saves time.
Who this mod is for
This mod is for players who want clear, immediate information during survival or building. If you carry several enchanted tools, you can tell your pickaxes apart at a glance. If you keep multiple shulker boxes in your inventory, you can find the right supplies by cycling through your hotbar slots.
Combat situations also benefit. You can verify potion effects before drinking a brew, or confirm weapon enchantments before stepping into a fight. You'll get what you need without pausing your movement or blocking your view with a full screen container menu.
Installation and technical requirements
Held Item Tooltips is built as a client side mod. Client side installation is required for the tooltips to render on your screen.
Server side installation is unsupported. Here's the thing, you shouldn't place this file into a dedicated server mods folder. Because the mod runs entirely on your local client, you can use it on servers without needing the server operator to install it.
