Overview and Purpose
Jade is an information HUD mod and UI improvement mod created by Snownee for Minecraft. Categorized under the Utility & Quality of Life categories, the mod shows information about what you are looking at directly on the screen. It's a fork of HWYLA by TehNut and serves as a Hwyla and Waila fork for modern Minecraft versions.
Jade was designed for a better user experience and API. When compared to Hwyla, the mod introduces several notable changes:
- API redesign
- More vanilla addons
- Higher configurability
- Better accessibility
Client and Server Requirements
Both client-side and server-side installations are optional for Jade. A player can install Jade only on the client side. However, while client-only installation is supported, many features require Jade on the server side.
Features that require Jade on the server side include:
- Item storage
- Brewing stand fuel amount
- Bees in beehive
For mod integration, players can use Jade Addons on NeoForge and Fabric.
Default Key Controls
Jade provides several default keypad controls for configuring and managing the overlay display:
- Keypad 0: Open configuration screen
- Keypad 1: Toggle overlay
- Keypad 2: Toggle liquid display
- Keypad 3: Show recipes (Requires JEI)
- Keypad 4: Show uses (Requires JEI)
- Keypad 5: Narrate target
These keybindings allow players to open the configuration screen with Keypad 0, toggle the overlay with Keypad 1, and toggle the liquid display with Keypad 2. Here's the thing, and Keypad 3 shows recipes and Keypad 4 shows uses when JEI is present, while Keypad 5 provides target narration.
Supported Loaders and Game Versions
Jade supports three mod loaders:
- Neoforge
- Fabric
- Quilt
The mod supports the following discrete Minecraft versions:
