NoRecipeBook

A Fabric/Quilt mod that removes the recipe book from the players inventory.

About

NoRecipeBook is a client-side utility mod designed for Fabric and Quilt mod loaders. It removes the recipe book button from the player's inventory interface, specifically the button located in the top-right corner of the inventory screen. This mod does not remove the recipe book functionality itself - players can still access recipes via the recipe book in the crafting grid - but it eliminates the persistent button that appears in the inventory UI. The mod is strictly client-side and doesn't require installation on the server; it functions correctly in single-player and multiplayer environments without server-side dependencies.

Compatibility

NoRecipeBook supports lots of Minecraft versions, including both stable releases and development snapshots. According to the official Modrinth listing, the mod is compatible with Minecraft versions 26.3, 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1, 1.21.8, 1.21.7, 1.21.6, 1.21.5, 1.21.4, 1.21.3, 1.21.2, 1.21.11, 1.21.10, and 1.21.9. Real talk, the mod is primarily developed for the Fabric loader, but due to its reliance on Mixins only, it's fully compatible with Quilt as well. For Forge and NeoForge users, the mod author notes that existing alternatives already provide similar functionality, so NoRecipeBook does not target those platforms.

License and Dependencies

This mod is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. It has no external dependencies beyond the mod loader (Fabric or Quilt) and the Mixin library, which is standard for Fabric-based mods. The mod doesn't alter core gameplay mechanics, world generation, or server behavior - it only modifies the client-side user interface by hiding the recipe book button.

Use Cases

Players who prefer a minimalist inventory interface or who find the recipe book button visually distracting may use this mod to achieve a cleaner UI. And it is particularly useful in modpacks or custom interfaces where the recipe book button clashes with custom GUI elements. Since the mod only affects the client, it can be safely used on any server without requiring consensus from other players or server administrators.

Bugs and Issues

For any bugs, issues, or feature requests, users are encouraged to report them on the project's GitHub repository. The mod is actively maintained for the latest Minecraft versions, with older versions receiving only critical bug fixes as needed.
