Skyfall: Meteorites transforms the sky into a source of both danger and loot. The mod introduces three distinct sizes of meteorites that fall from the clouds. These celestial objects are composed of different materials, each with unique properties. For instance, basic meteorites are made of Sky Rock, a special stone that behaves similarly to gilded blackstone when mined, randomly dropping itself or other materials. Larger meteorites may contain a block of Stardust in their center, providing a valuable resource for players who can survive the impact.
Resources and Tools
Stardust serves as the primary resource in this mod, powering various blocks and recipes. It can be found inside meteorites, within mod-specific structures, or as a chance drop when a Skyfall Protector destroys an incoming meteorite. Players can also obtain Skyforged Tools from Mysterious Crates. These tools offer higher efficiency and enchantability than golden tools, though they've lower durability. Mysterious Crates are found in the centers of blackstone meteorites and require Stardust to open, revealing their loot.
Defense and Control
To manage the threat of falling debris, the mod provides several defensive options. The Skyfall Protector is a block that can be charged with Stardust to target and destroy incoming meteorites. And the Astral Repulsion Beacon offers a more full defense by completely stopping all meteorites within its range. This range can be extended by placing Stardust Blocks beneath the beacon and visualized using redstone power. However, using this beacon eliminates any potential gains from meteorites in that area. Players can also use Astral Attraction Runes to summon a single large meteorite at a specific location, though caution is advised as it lands exactly where the rune is used.
Events and Commands
The mod includes three summonable events, one of which occurs naturally. This remaining events, along with all meteorites, can be triggered using the /skyfall command. This allows players to test defenses or create chaotic scenarios on demand. Real talk, most features within the mod are configurable, allowing server administrators to tailor the experience to their needs.
