What the mod does
Stack to Nearby Chests brings the inventory sorting mechanics from Terraria into Minecraft. It runs entirely on your client. You don't need anything installed on the server. When you open a container or stand near your storage area, you can dump matching items out of your pockets with one click or keybind.
Container actions and restocking
The mod gives you two core actions. Quick stack looks at the open container. If that container already holds at least one piece of an item, the mod moves matching items from your inventory into it. Restock works in reverse. It takes items from the container to fill partial stacks in your inventory up to their maximum count.
You can trigger these actions with screen buttons or custom key shortcuts. By default, the mod skips shulker boxes and bundles so you do not accidentally dump your portable storage. You can change these exclusions in the settings.
Nearby storage and selective transfers
You don't have to open chests one by one. The mod can check every openable container within your reach. You can hit a hotkey while standing in your base or click a button in your inventory screen. It iterates through default targets like regular chests, trapped chests, barrels, shulker boxes, ender chests, chest boats, chest minecarts, donkeys, mules, and llamas.
If you only want to offload one specific item type, you can use selective quick stack. Drag that item onto the quick stack button or use a shortcut key to move only that item type into nearby chests.
Item protection with favorites
Hold Left Alt and right-click an item in your inventory to favorite it. Favorited items can't be quick stacked into chests. Here's the thing, you can also configure the settings to prevent throwing them with the Q key, picking them up, quick-moving them, or swapping them.
If you remove a favorited item from your inventory, it loses its favorite status. Favoriting doesn't work in creative mode. Switching your game mode to creative clears all favorites right away.
Requirements and options
Press Left Ctrl + S + C to open the configuration menu. This screen lets you adjust visual settings, key bindings, and container lists.
The mod runs on the Fabric loader and requires Fabric API. A server side is unsupported, meaning you install it only on your local game client. Supported Minecraft versions include 1.21.5, 1.21.6, 1.21.7, 1.21.8, 1.21.9, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, and 26.1.2. The code that scans nearby containers comes from the clientcommands mod.
