What the mod does
Traveler's Backpack brings wearable, functional luggage into your world. The mod is the official port and successor of JavierDarkona's Adventure Backpack, with updated textures made since version 1.16.
You can hold a backpack in your main hand and right-click to open it, or equip it onto your back. Pressing B opens your worn pack by default. You can also place the backpack on the ground like a standard block. When placed in the world, hoppers and pipes can move items in and out of its inventory. When equipped, the pack renders directly on your character model.
Tiers and upgrades
Progression uses a smithing table to upgrade your gear. The mod offers 5 tiers: Leather, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite. Each tier increases your item storage capacity, upgrade slots, and tool slots.
You can equip up to 11 functional upgrades on a pack. Available upgrades include Tanks, Crafting, Feeding, Magnet, Pickup, Void, and Furnace. A built-in sleeping bag lets you sleep out in the wild without resetting your personal spawn point. Dedicated tool slots allow quick tool swaps, and a specialized hose item lets you fill or empty internal fluid tanks.
Inventory management and customization
Organization tools help you manage large inventories. The interface provides sort, quick stack, and transfer buttons to move items. You can mark specific slots as unsortable or set them to remember designated item stacks so your storage stays organized.
Visual options let you customize your pack. You can craft standard backpacks and combine them with dyes, or pick from over 45 custom styles inspired by various creatures and blocks. Certain custom models grant special abilities, which you can toggle using a GUI switch or a keybind.
Setup and compatibility
Traveler's Backpack requires both client-side and server-side installation. Here's the thing, it supports Neoforge and Fabric loaders on Minecraft versions 1.21.1, 1.21.11, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, and 26.2.
The mod integrates with Curios, Trinkets, and Accessories, allowing you to equip the bag into your Back slot. You can adjust settings in the config file, including slot counts, backpack abilities, enabled upgrades, and loot drops from mobs or chests. Supporters on Ko-fi can also display a visible star badge on their backpacks in multiplayer. You can include the mod in public and private modpacks.
