What this addon adds
Create: Tweaked Controllers is a Minecraft mod by getItemFromBlock that gives you direct control over Create contraptions. Instead of depending on standard controls, you drive machines with an advanced controller item. It gives you another way to handle contraption movement without relying only on vanilla buttons or basic seats.
You can pilot contraptions with a keyboard, mouse buttons, cursor movements, or an external controller. The item works out of the box with gamepads, or you can configure it to accept input from other devices.
Supported input hardware
The mod uses GLFW, the standard input library in Minecraft, to read analog sticks and buttons. If GLFW identifies a controller layout, it assigns the device 6 axes and 15 buttons. On some gamepads, the A/B and X/Y face buttons are inverted, or rear triggers read as shoulder buttons instead of analog axes. Other unrecognized devices register as generic joysticks with unorganized inputs.
Standard Xbox controllers and PlayStation DualShock controllers work directly. Third-party gamepads such as Logitech controllers also work. Joysticks, HOTAS rigs, and racing wheels may work directly, though you can use a gamepad emulator if your specific hardware doesn't connect. If you connect unconventional hardware, you must enable advanced input mode. WiiMotes aren't supported.
Controller stick directions follow GLFW standards. For most gamepads, the +X axis points right and the +Y axis points down.
Loader and mod compatibility
You must install the mod on both the client and the dedicated server. It's distributed under the MIT License. Here's the thing, community contributors provided translations for Korean and Chinese, and McArctic handled the original 1.21.1 port.
The mod supports the Forge and Neoforge mod loaders. Verified Minecraft versions are 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.20.1, and 1.21.1.
On recent releases, the mod requires Create 6.0.0 or newer. It's compatible with Valkyrien Skies Clockwork and Create Simulated. In addition, the mod disables an issue where frequent network updates from analog axis feeds broke components such as the Adjustable Chain Gearshift.
