What this project does
Oh The Trees You'll Grow is a Java mod and tree generation library created by CorgiTaco. It gives users and modders an easy system for building trees in Minecraft.
The core capability is structure template support. A library allows the creation of trees with Minecraft's structure template.nbt files. It aims to give you incredible configurability when adding custom trees to the world. You build your tree templates as.nbt files, and the library handles placing them during generation.
Origins and project background
The library was originally created for Oh The Biomes You'll Go, a popular Minecraft mod. It was built to handle tree creation for that mod before CorgiTaco released it as a standalone library for all creators.
Modrinth lists the project under two categories: Libraries & APIs and World Generation. Modders can use it as a dependency for their own mods, and individual users can use it directly to configure trees.
Server requirements and client compatibility
This mod is strictly required on the server side. In contrast, client side installation is unsupported.
You don't need to install this mod on player game clients. Vanilla clients can connect to a server running this library without any issues. Look, the server handles all structure template processing and tree placement during world generation.
Mod loader and Minecraft version support
CorgiTaco maintains compatibility across four mod loaders: Forge, Neoforge, Fabric, and Quilt.
The library supports seven specific Minecraft versions:
- 26.3
- 1.21.11
- 1.21.10
- 1.21.9
- 1.21.8
- 1.21.7
- 1.21.6
Because client installations are unsupported, you only need to make sure your server environment runs one of these specific version targets and supported mod loaders.
Licensing and distribution
The project is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
Project files and downloads are hosted on Modrinth, Curseforge, and GitHub.
