Terra per Minecraft

Il nostro riassunto

Cosa fa questo progetto

Terra: World Generation Modding Platform for Minecraft Terra is a modern world generation modding platform designed for Minecraft, offering complete customization of terrain, biomes, and structures through a powerful configuration system and extensible API. Rather than modifying code, users define world generation rules via configuration packs that control everything from mountain formation to ore distribution. ## Core Functionality Terra provides a voxel-based world generation API with strong emphasis on configuration and extensibility. The platform includes an addon loader that allows addons to interface with the Terra API in a platform-agnostic manner. Core addons are included to implement a standard configuration schema, serving as a foundational library for custom world generation setups. ## Platform Support Terra officially supports the following mod loaders and server platforms: - Fabric - Quilt - Paper (and compatible forks like Purpur) - Purpur - Folia The mod is designed to be platform-agnostic, meaning world generation logic runs independently of the same configuration packs can be used across different environments. Platform-specific implementations handle the translation between the Terra API and the underlying server or mod loader. ## Minecraft Version Compatibility Terra is compatible with the following Minecraft versions: - 1.21.5 - 1.21.6 - 1.21.8 Each version requires a corresponding build of Terra; users must match the mod version to their Minecraft version. ## Installation and Usage Terra operates exclusively on the server side. No client-side installation is required for players to experience custom world generation when connecting to a Terra-enabled server. Installation instructions vary by platform and are available in the official getting started guide. ## Configuration and Community Content World generation in Terra is driven by configuration packs. The mod includes a default overworld config pack that replicates vanilla terrain while allowing adjustments. Beyond the default, Terra supports community-made config packs that showcase alternative world styles, such as floating islands, deep underground biomes, or custom dimensional layouts. These packs can be used as-is or modified to create unique worlds. ## Licensing Terra uses a dual-licensing model to balance openness with platform compatibility: - The Terra API and core addons are licensed under the MIT License, permitting free use, modification, and redistribution. - Platform-specific implementations and platform-agnostic components are licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPLv3) to ensure they remain free software in all usage contexts. ## Development Status Terra is currently in beta. While the core functionality is stable and production-ready - including full vanilla resource support in the default overworld config - the mod isn't feature-complete. Ongoing development focuses on expanding configuration options, API capabilities, and platform support.
