Overview
Zoomify is a Minecraft mod created by isxander under the Utility and Quality of Life categories. Designed to offer a highly configurable and accessible zooming experience, it allows players to smoothly adjust their viewpoint. The zoom key defaults to C in the controls menu. On the first launch, Zoomify includes smart keybinding detection that displays a notification if another keybind conflicts with the zoom control. Players can open the configuration interface through the /zoomify client command or by using the settings button in Mod Menu.
Zoom Mechanics and Transitions
Zoomify allows players to zoom in further by rotating the scroll wheel while holding the zoom key. Rather than relying on arbitrary speed values, the mod lets users configure the exact duration in seconds required to zoom in and zoom out.
Players can choose from 14 distinct transition styles:
- Instant
- Linear
- Ease in Sine, Ease out Sine, Ease in/out Sine
- Ease in Quad, Ease out Quad, Ease in/out Quad
- Ease in Cubic, Ease out Cubic, Ease in/out Cubic
- Ease in Exponential, Ease out Exponential, Ease in/out Exponential
Each transition can be selected independently for zooming in and zooming out. In addition, Zoomify includes a dedicated secondary zoom mode created for content creators, offering longer zoom durations and an option to hide the HUD while active. Built-in presets enable users to reset settings to default or match OptiFine zoom behavior.
Camera Adjustments and Spyglass Integration
To keep camera control steady while magnified, Zoomify features relative sensitivity scaling that lowers mouse sensitivity according to the zoom level. It also offers relative view bobbing reduction to minimize walking bobbing while zoomed in. Players can enable a cinematic camera mode for OptiFine-like smoothing or toggle off the hand FOV setting to prevent the player's hands from zooming.
Zoomify also integrates directly with the vanilla spyglass. It can be configured to allow zooming only when holding or carrying a spyglass, or it can override vanilla spyglass zooming entirely while displaying the spyglass overlay and triggering spyglass sound effects.
Technical Specifications and Compatibility
Zoomify is required on the client side and is unsupported on the server side. Real talk, it runs on the Fabric mod loader and is distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
