What the mod does
Controlify lets you play Minecraft Java Edition with a controller instead of a mouse and keyboard. It uses the SDL3 library for cross-platform input handling. The default stick sensitivity matches Bedrock Edition to help you transition without tweaking files.
It's required on the client and optional on servers. So it supports Fabric and NeoForge.
Who it's for
It fits players who want to sit on a couch and play with a gamepad. Console players moving to Java edition can keep their familiar input style. And it also helps players who can't use a keyboard and mouse or who rely on adaptive controllers.
Input features and haptic feedback
You can use standard gamepads from Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and Steam Deck. Controlify also accepts flight sticks, racing wheels, and other joysticks.
Aiming works with analog sticks or your controller gyroscope. Vibration triggers on events like taking damage, breaking blocks, and lightning strikes.
DualSense controllers get dedicated support. The mod handles HD haptics and adaptive triggers. Here's the thing, it also reads vendor-specific inputs like paddles, touchpads, and mute buttons with their LED lights. You don't need extra driver software for PlayStation controllers on Windows.
Menu navigation and text entry
You can navigate menus without touching a mouse. This includes inventory screens, main settings, and screens from other mods. Cursor snapping in inventory screens keeps item management fast.
A built-in on-screen keyboard lets you type in chat and search boxes directly from the gamepad. If you run out of buttons, you can assign extra actions to a customizable radial menu.
Customization and mod compatibility
Resource packs can change default bindings, button glyphs, on-screen guides, and keyboard layouts. Packs can also add new controller models.
Controlify includes integration with mods like Sodium, Iris, Simple Voice Chat, and Do A Barrel Roll. Non-standard joystick users can map inputs to a regular gamepad or set up custom glyphs and bindings.

Verified Minecraft versions in the project record are 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, and 26.1 on Fabric and NeoForge.
