This client-side mod enhances Minecraft builds by hiding item frames when they contain items, while keeping empty frames visible. The effect is purely visual and does not alter game mechanics or what other players see in multiplayer.
How It Works
When activated, the mod checks each item frame. If a frame holds an item, it becomes invisible to the player. Empty frames remain fully visible, allowing users to use them as decorative elements or markers for hidden storage. The frame state is saved between sessions in the configuration file hide_item_frame.json.
Usage and Controls
Press the H key (default) to toggle the visibility of filled frames. This allows temporary viewing of all frames, useful when organizing items or verifying storage locations. The keybind can be reconfigured in the game's controls menu.
Configuration Options
Access the mod settings through the in-game config screen to adjust two main options:
- Frame Visibility: Controls whether frames containing items are hidden. This setting mirrors the H key toggle and saves to the configuration file.
- Offset Item in Frame: When enabled, pushes the item slightly forward inside the frame for alternative visual alignment, useful for custom displays or texture packs.
Changes take effect immediately without requiring a world reload.
