Make Bubbles Pop

What it does Make Bubbles Pop is a client-side mod that replaces the default bubble particle behavior. Instead of fading out, bubbles now pop when they reach the water surface and follow a rising trajectory that matches water physics more closely. The mod also introduces new bubble sources: opening a chest or barrel underwater emits bubbles, and underwater explosions generate bubble effects. A long-standing issue tracked as MC-132067 is fixed so that downward bubble columns pop on top of magma blocks rather than inside them. All changes are purely visual and run entirely on the client; no server installation is required and gameplay mechanics are unaffected. ## Who it suits This mod suits players who want more immersive water visuals without altering game rules. It works well for survival worlds, creative builds, and modpacks focused on atmosphere. Because it is client-only, you can install it on any client connecting to a vanilla or modded server without requiring the server to have the mod. ## Verified capabilities The mod replaces vanilla bubble particles with a pop animation at the surface and a rising trajectory that follows water physics. New bubble emitters appear when opening chests or barrels underwater and when explosions occur underwater. The MC-132067 fix adjusts downward bubble columns to pop on top of magma blocks. A configuration screen becomes available when MidnightLib (Fabric) or Configured (Forge) is installed alongside the mod, letting you toggle biome-dependent tint and entity interaction physics for bubbles. ## Compatibility and loaders The Modrinth project lists NeoForge as the supported mod loader. Supported Minecraft versions are 26.2, 26.3, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1, 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9, 1.21.8, 1.21.7, 1.21.6, 1.21.5, 1.21.4, 1.21.3, 1.21.2, 1.21.1, and 1.21. Forge is supported only until Minecraft 1.21.5. Native NeoForge support is planned but not yet released. The Fabric version can run on NeoForge when installed alongside Sinytra Connector. The author doesn't recommend installing Particle Tweaks together with Make Bubbles Pop. The mod requires the client side; the server side is unsupported.
