Marlow's Crystal Optimizer

autor: DevBram

A Fabric and NeoForge mod that removes end crystals on your client the instant you break them, instead of waiting on the server, cutting the lag PvP players feel on higher ping connections.

Co robi ten projekt

What It Does

Marlow's Crystal Optimizer targets one specific lag spot in end crystal combat. When you break a crystal, the game normally waits for the server to confirm removal before your client stops rendering it. This mod removes the crystal on the client side right away instead of waiting on that round trip. If your connection to the server has any real delay, that wait adds up fast during fights, and this mod cuts it out.

Who It's For

This suits players who fight with end crystals and notice lag from ping. It's a client side mod, and there is currently no supported server side use, so the benefit comes from having it installed on your own game. Look, fabric users get support across a long run of Minecraft versions, and NeoForge users are covered too, starting from 1.20.4.

Platform and Version Support

The mod runs on Fabric for Minecraft versions from 1.19 up through 26.3. NeoForge support is also available, covering versions from 1.20.4 through 26.3. Client side is required. Server side isn't supported, so this only changes what happens on your own game, not what the server does.

Optional Extras

Two pieces are entirely optional and are not needed for the core behavior to work. Mod Menu adds an update badge to the mod list on Fabric. YetAnotherConfigLib adds a settings screen, and it needs Mod Menu present on Fabric to do that.

One toggle worth knowing about is Keep Render. With it on, a broken crystal stays visible until the server actually removes it, but the mod still stops that crystal from blocking your crosshair or your next placement right away. It's off by default. This setting, along with the update check source and whether experimental builds are allowed, lives in a config file the mod writes on its own, so the default behavior needs no setup from you.

Server Side Opt Out

Server admins aren't stuck running this against their wishes. There's a documented opt out mechanism using dedicated channels and payloads, so a server can tell a connecting client to turn the optimizer off for that session.

Marlow's Crystal Optimizer is released under the MIT License, so the source is open for anyone to read or build on within those terms.
