Overview
Runes is a Magic-category mod for Minecraft, created by ZsoltMolnarrr. It adds rune stones that serve as ammo for spells, along with a dedicated Rune Crafting Altar for making them in bulk.
Crafting Runes
Runes can be made by hand or at a regular crafting table using shapeless recipes. Each rune is typically crafted from cobblestone plus a material tied to its specific type. Based on the mod's listing, the current recipes are amethyst for Arcane runes, coal for Fire runes, a snowball for Frost runes, and honey together with gold for Healing runes. Look, two further rune types, Lightning and Soul, are listed on the project page but marked as not available yet, so they can't currently be crafted.
The Rune Crafting Altar
The most efficient way to produce runes is the Rune Crafting Altar. Every rune uses the same recipe on the Altar as it does elsewhere, but the Altar returns more runes for the same amount of ingredients. According to the mod's GitHub repository, the Altar runs on its own recipe type, formatted in a way similar to Smithing Table recipes, with example recipes included in the repository's data files.
Compatibility
Runes supports the Forge, Fabric, and NeoForge mod loaders. Its official listing marks the Fabric API as required and states that the mod itself must be installed on both the client and the server, not just one side. The Minecraft versions listed as supported are 26.3, 26.2, and 1.20.1. These are listed as separate, discrete versions rather than a continuous range, and no other versions are stated as supported.

Runes is filed under the Magic category on its project listing. It is released under an all-rights-reserved license (LicenseRef-All-Rights-Reserved), meaning the mod's assets aren't available for open reuse or redistribution the way a permissive license would allow.
