Carry On

作者 Tschipp

Carry On lets you lift, transport, and place filled single-block tile entities, mobs, and other players using empty hands while keeping stored items and data intact.

这个项目能做什么

Basic mechanics

Carry On changes how you move blocks and creatures in Minecraft. You don't need a pickaxe or extra tools to shift a container. Empty your hands, hold shift, and right-click a single-block tile entity or mob to lift it up. Right-click again to set it back down. You can rebind the sneak keybind in your controls if you prefer a different key.

Blocks keep all their data when lifted. Stored inventories, block states, metadata, and NBT tags stay intact. You can carry chests, furnaces, droppers, spawners, and single-block machines from tech mods without spilling items across the ground.

Carrying limits and penalties

Moving objects on foot brings real trade-offs. You can hold only one tile entity or creature at a time. While your hands are occupied with carrying, you can't perform other regular game actions.

Carrying triggers a slowness penalty. Heavier loads slow you down even more. Real talk, a chest packed with items or a bulkier mob makes you walk noticeably slower.

Living creatures follow set rules. You can lift friendly mobs, other players, and smaller animals. Hostile mobs can't be picked up in survival mode by default, though you can toggle that in the settings. Smaller entities can stack on top of larger ones. Locked tile entities can't be stolen by other players. If a picked up block gets stuck in your hands and won't place down, you can clear it from your inventory using the /carryon clear command.

Configuration and developer options

The config file gives you broad control over gameplay rules. You can blacklist specific blocks or entire mods from being picked up. Anyone can also enable an option to carry standard blocks like dirt, which is off by default. The mod includes scripting tools for modpack creators and fires events during pickup and placement for mod developers.

Compatibility and requirements

Carry On supports Fabric, Forge, and Neoforge. Supported Minecraft versions are 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1, and 1.21.11. The mod is required on both the client side and the server side. It's released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
