What the mod does
Cubes Without Borders adds a borderless window option to Minecraft. In vanilla fullscreen, clicking outside the game or moving to another monitor typically minimizes the game window. This mod keeps the window open across multiple displays or beneath overlapping windows without dropping to the taskbar. It runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows.
Switching display modes
You can turn on borderless mode inside your normal Video Settings screen. The mod adds a third choice named Borderless to the standard Fullscreen control. If you prefer toggling with a keybinding like F11, the mod sets borderless as the default fullscreen target.
Players who want the game to open in borderless mode immediately can add the --borderless startup argument to their launcher. For custom setups, you can change settings through an in-game screen if you have Cloth Config or YACL installed, or by editing the cwb.json configuration file directly in your configuration folder.
Settings and troubleshooting
The mod includes distinct windowing modes to address platform quirks. One default low-latency option is minecraft:windowed. If you run into issues on Windows, you can switch to windows:windowed in the mod configuration.
If you use custom Sodium forks or versions where the borderless choice does not appear in Sodium's menu, you can open the vanilla video settings screen by pressing Ctrl + Shift + P. Look, the mod also features a useDelayedFullscreen option, which delays fullscreen startup to prevent driver resolution warnings on certain setups.
Compatibility notes
This is a client-side mod under the MIT License and is unsupported on dedicated servers. It supports Fabric, Forge, Neoforge, and Quilt mod loaders on Minecraft versions 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, and 26.2.
