What More Sounds does for you More Sounds is an addon for the Sounds mod that adds custom sound effects and patches audio bugs across a long list of popular mods. It runs on Forge, Fabric, and NeoForge and supports Minecraft versions 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.5, 1.20.6, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, and 1.21.5. The mod must be installed on both the client and the server to work. ## Compatibility fixes you hear The project calls out three specific fixes that ship in the NeoForge 1.21.x builds. Item sounds now play correctly inside Sophisticated Storage, Sophisticated Backpacks, and Sophisticated Storage In Motion. JEI item selection sounds are restored. Applied Energistics 2 terminal sounds work again. These are mixin-level patches, so they only exist on NeoForge for the newest game versions. ## Full support mods Over twenty mods receive custom sounds for every item and block they add. The list includes Applied Energistics 2, the Aether and Deep Aether, Mob Grinding Utils, Powah, Occultism, Artifacts, Relics, Mekanism Tools, Apotheosis, Ars Nouveau, Ars Elemental, Ars Additions, Iron Spells 'n Spellbooks, Glassential, Cataclysm, Gadgets Against Grind, Cataclysm Spellbooks, Building Gadgets, Patchouli, Sophisticated Storage In Motion, Advanced Netherite, Shrink, and Aquaculture 2. If you play with any of these, you get a complete audio overhaul for their content. ## Partial support mods Eleven mods have only a handful of items implemented so far. Twilight Forest, Reliquified Twilight Forest, base Mekanism, Bumblezone, PneumaticCraft, Advanced AE, Mekanism Extras, CC: Tweaked, Advanced Peripherals, Deeper and Darker, and Create 6 fall in this tier. You'll hear new sounds for some items, but coverage is incomplete. ## Generic category sounds Even without a dedicated mod integration, More Sounds adds common sounds for broad item groups. All dusts, dirty dusts, bows and crossbows, boats, raw and cooked fish or meat, and books share consistent audio cues. This works across any mod that uses those standard categories. ## License and requirements The code is released under GPL-3.0-only. You need the base Sounds mod present, and More Sounds must be on both sides of the connection. No other hard dependencies are listed.
