What the mod does
PatchouliButton is a quality of life and utility addon for Minecraft built around the Patchouli documentation mod. When you play with several mods installed, each one often adds its own Patchouli handbook. Juggling all those books in your storage containers or carrying them around can take up a lot of room.
PatchouliButton solves this problem by grouping all Patchouli books into a unified menu. Instead of hunting through storage chests for a specific volume, you can open all of your available mod books from one unified location.
The mod places a button directly in your inventory user interface. You click that button whenever you need to check documentation, and the mod displays the collection of books available in your game. But it keeps your inventory slots free for tools and building blocks.
Modpack configuration options
Modpack creators get direct control over how the button behaves in their packs.
By default, the button lists every loaded Patchouli book. However, if you're building a custom pack, you can change this behavior completely. The mod allows pack developers to route the inventory button straight to a single designated book, such as a custom modpack guidebook, rather than opening a full list of mod manuals. This lets you guide your players directly to your own documentation from the moment they open their inventory screen.
Author Globox1997 released PatchouliButton under the open source MIT license. You've full permission to include this mod in any modpack you assemble. Real talk, if you run across any bugs or problems while testing or playing, submit your reports directly on the project GitHub page.
Requirements and loader support
PatchouliButton is built for the Fabric mod loader. The author has stated that there are currently no plans to create a Forge version of the mod.
The supported Minecraft versions are 1.20.1 and 1.19.2. Both client side and server side installation are required for the mod to work.
To use PatchouliButton, you need to download and install three required dependencies separately:
- Fabric API
- Cloth Config API
- Patchouli
All other dependencies come bundled inside the mod file itself, so you don't need to download additional libraries beyond those three prerequisites.
