Polymorph

作者 TheIllusiveC4

Polymorph adds a selection menu above output slots when recipes share ingredients, letting you pick your crafted or smelted item without data pack overrides.

这个项目能做什么

How recipe selection works

Modded setups often run into duplicate recipes. Two mods might assign different items to the exact same crafting pattern. Normally, one item hides the other unless someone writes custom data packs. Polymorph changes that behavior.

When you put ingredients into a grid that matches multiple outcomes, an extra button appears right above the output slot. Clicking that button opens an interactive list of all valid outputs. You pick the item you want, and the output box updates immediately. The mod also remembers what you chose as long as the inputs stay in place. That makes repeat crafting runs painless.

Smelting and smithing interfaces

Crafting tables aren't the only place where recipes collide. Smelting setups can also run into overlapping inputs.

In a furnace interface, the selection button sits above the output slot whenever multiple results exist for a single input item. The menu highlights your active choice with a green outline. Once you pick an output, the game saves that preference directly to the furnace block. The setting persists even if you unload the chunk or log out of the world.

Smithing tables use a similar setup. When your input items match multiple upgrade outcomes, the button appears over the output slot and lets you switch between valid results.

Finding conflicts in your log files

You don't have to guess which recipes overlap across your installed mods. Real talk, the mod includes a built-in scan command.

Running /polymorph conflicts triggers a scan across your loaded recipes. The command checks crafting, smelting, blasting, smoking, and smithing lists. It then writes every detected collision directly to a text file in your logs folder. Modpack makers and server hosts can use this log to see where recipes fight for the same inputs.
