What Psi does differentlyPsi replaces traditional magic systems with a visual programming interface. You assemble spells by connecting nodes that represent vectors, operators, and world actions. The result is a sequence that runs on a Casting Assistant Device (CAD) in the world. Because the logic is built on vector math and a stack-based execution model, a single spell can handle movement, block manipulation, entity targeting, or complex conditional chains without hard-coded limits.## Progression and documentationThe mod gates new nodes and CAD upgrades behind a leveling system. Experience comes from casting spells and completing in-game tutorials that Patchouli powers. Each tutorial introduces a concept - vectors, loops, raycasts - then lets you experiment before unlocking the next tier. The documentation lives inside the game, so you never need to alt-tab to a wiki.## Sharing and community contentSpells export to a compact text format you can paste into chat, a config file, or a Reddit post. The community maintains the Psi Spell Compendium on Reddit as the main archive of player-made spells. You can import any shared spell directly into your CAD, study its node layout, and modify it.## Compatibility and requirementsPsi runs on Fabric and NeoForge for Minecraft 1.21.1. Both client and server must have the mod installed. Patchouli is required for the in-game guide on 1.16.5 and newer; older builds used AutoRegLib instead. The license is a custom Psi License, not a standard open-source license.## Recent additionsThe latest repository build adds KubeJS support on NeoForge, letting pack makers script custom spell nodes or CAD behaviors. Datapack support now lets you define CAD component stats without code changes, so modpack authors can balance or extend equipment through data files alone.
