Repurposed Structures - Fabric is a world generation mod that creates new variants of existing Minecraft structures and features. It takes familiar designs like strongholds, mineshafts, and temples and reimagines them with fresh twists - such as a Jungle Fortress variant not found in the base game. These additions aim to increase biome diversity without altering core gameplay.
The mod runs entirely on the server side. Honestly, this means players using a vanilla Minecraft client can join a server running the mod without needing to install anything client-side. No new blocks or entities are added that would break compatibility with unmodified clients.
All structures are integrated into the game’s natural world generation. They spawn in appropriate biomes using the same rules as vanilla features, ensuring they feel like a natural extension of the world rather than intrusive additions. Since the 1.18.2 update, structure configuration has been handled through datapacks, allowing users to adjust spawn rates or disable specific structures via the provided config datapack.
Repurposed Structures is designed to coexist with other world generation mods. It does not replace or overwrite existing structures from mods like YUNG’s Better Strongholds or Better Mineshafts. Instead, its variants spawn alongside them, preserving the visual style of each mod’s contributions. Special datapacks are available to align Repurposed Structures’ output with the aesthetic of other popular mods if desired.
The mod includes optional features such as banner loot in chests, which only appear when the player has the Luck effect - typically granted through external mods or datapacks. Advancements tied to the mod’s structures can also be disabled via datapack if they become intrusive.
Licensed under the GNU LGPL v3.0, Repurposed Structures - Fabric is free to use in modpacks and supports Minecraft versions 1.20.1, 1.21.1, and the 26.x series for Fabric loader. It doesn't require any client-side installation and places no burden on vanilla players joining a modded server.
