Soaring Phantoms changes how phantoms appear in your world. Instead of punishing you for skipping sleep, the mod ties spawns to height and time of day. Phantoms only show up at night when you're above a configurable Y level. The higher you go, the more likely they're to appear. A simple formula drives the chance: one minus the starting height divided by your current position. At the default starting height of 160, you won't see them until you climb well above cloud level. The spawn check runs every 30 to 59 seconds by default, also configurable. A vanilla doInsomnia game rule still works - set it to false and phantoms stop entirely. They also respect sky light, so a roof over your head keeps them away regardless of altitude. The mod runs on the server side only; clients don't need it installed. It supports Fabric and Neoforge on Minecraft versions 1.21, 1.21.1, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3. License is MIT. A second feature lets you toggle passive phantoms before the Ender Dragon fight. When enabled, phantoms spawn lower - default Y 96 - and won't attack unless you hit them first. Phantoms in the End stay aggressive by default. This feature ships turned off. Third, you can define items that repel spawns while held in either hand. Phantom membrane is the default, but the list is fully editable. All three systems have independent toggles and numeric settings in the config file. No client-side installation required. No dependencies beyond the loader.

Soaring Phantoms replaces vanilla's insomnia-based phantom spawning with altitude-based mechanics, adding passive behavior options and item-based repelling.
