Thermoo

作者 TheDeathlyCow

Thermoo is a LGPL-3.0 licensed temperature and environment library for Minecraft that works with Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge on versions 26.1, 26.1.1 and 26.1.2, providing a unified API for mods and datapacks.

What Thermoo Is

Thermoo is a developer-focused library that adds a temperature and environment system to Minecraft. By itself it does not change gameplay or visuals, but it gives other mods and datapacks a common way to read and modify climate data.

Who Should Use It

If you are building a mod that relies on temperature - such as frost or heat mechanics - or you're creating a datapack that needs climate information, Thermoo provides the hooks you need. It is also useful for modpack authors who want to ensure that temperature-based mods work together without writing custom compatibility patches.

Core Capabilities

  • A unified framework for handling temperature and wetness, letting you query or set these values in a consistent way.
  • An event-driven configuration system that lets you adjust default item attributes based on climate.
  • A datapack-friendly API, so commands and other registries can interact with temperature data without Java code.
  • Support for multiple temperature units (Celsius, Fahrenheit) without forcing a specific scale.
  • Integration points for season-based mods, allowing temperature to vary with in-game seasons.
  • Powerful commands for testing or debugging temperature values.
  • Extensive customizability, so you can tailor the system to your own mod’s needs.

Compatibility Details

Thermoo runs on the Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge loaders. It is optional on the client side but required on the server side, meaning a server can host the library even if players do not have it installed. Real talk, the mod officially supports Minecraft versions 26.1, 26.1.1 and 26.1.2. It can operate server-only when used with Polymer on Fabric.

Licensing and Availability

The project is released under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. You may link Thermoo into your own mods freely; redistribution of the library itself must follow the LGPL-3.0 terms. The source code and developer wiki are hosted on GitHub, where you can find build instructions, test suites and contribution guidelines.

When to Add Thermoo

Add Thermoo when you need a reliable temperature reference that works across multiple loaders and Minecraft versions. So it is especially handy if you plan to support both Java and Kotlin mods, or if you want your datapack to react to climate without writing low-level code.

Limitations

Thermoo does not provide any visual effects or gameplay changes on its own. It also does not guarantee compatibility with mods that implement their own temperature systems outside the Thermoo API. Users should check each mod’s documentation for any known incompatibilities.
