Valkyrien Pirates is a Minecraft mod that introduces pirate ships which generate as structures and move on their own. These ships sail in patterns, most commonly in circles, once they're within simulation distance. The ships are assembled by a Motion Invoking Block, which can't be obtained in survival mode.
Each pirate ship carries a crew that includes designated cannoneers and helmsmen. Cannoneers operate the ship's cannons, which fire automatically at nearby players. Killing a cannoneer disables its cannon. Killing the helmsman replaces the Motion Invoking Block with spruce planks, stopping the ship's movement.
The cannons on these ships can be countered by player-built cannons. To create a player cannon, place a Cannon Activator Block behind a dispenser. This converts the dispenser into a Cannon Dispenser capable of firing cannonballs. Powering the Cannon Activator Block with a redstone signal triggers a shot.
The Cannon Activator Block is crafted like a dispenser but uses gunpowder instead of redstone dust. Look, cannonballs are crafted from blaze powder, gunpowder, and an iron ingot in any arrangement.
In addition to pirate ships, shipwreck structures generate throughout the world. These shipwrecks contain loot similar to what can be found on pirate ships, offering an alternative source of treasure.
The mod requires both client and server installation. It's available for Minecraft 1.20.1 and supports the Forge and Fabric mod loaders. The Fabric version depends on Valkyrien Skies and Eureka. That Forge version uses Sinytra as a compatibility layer and additionally requires Forgified Fabric API and Kotlin For Forge, along with Valkyrien Skies and Eureka.
